ABOUT SIDNEY

MY FITNESS JOURNEY

My biggest struggle with fitness has always been motivation and consistency. I didn’t play sports growing up, and most of my adult life I bounced back and forth between running, yoga, and spin classes. 

I decided I wanted to build my glutes early 2019 and started doing random workouts I saw online, and a few months later joined a gym. I was so intimidated on the weights floor so I mostly stuck with light dumbbells and machines so I could stay as hidden as possible. At this point in my journey, I was still not seeing results from my workouts. 

In December 2019, I started doing a progressive overload based lifting program with one of my friends and I absolutely loved it! I loved seeing my body change, seeing the increase in strength from week to week, and I loved that the programming changed monthly so I did not get bored of doing the same thing. 

Over the next 18 months, my body went through an entire transformation. Through progressive overload resistance training and diligence with my diet, my muscles grew and I fell in love with the results that I had achieved. I decided to become a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM, and started writing my own programming, as well as writing programming for friends and people I knew.

Once I started taking on clients, I felt like I was in my element because I had gone through many of the same challenges that they were facing.  It is so fun to work with people individually to help them achieve their goals and improve confidence and overall life satisfaction. I absolutely love getting to be a part of the fitness journey for my clients! It is so special to witness the personal growth of others, and get to see others feeling more confident and living their most authentic lives! 

MY VEGAN JOURNEY

As with my fitness journey, my diet journey involved yo-yo dieting and struggling with inconsistency. I struggled with binging and restricting foods based on my opinion of my body that day, and I often felt like I was not in control of my own dietary choices. I transitioned to being a vegan in February of 2020 for health reasons and started taking control over what I was putting into my body.

At the same time as my transition to being a vegan, my resistance training was ramping up, and I noticed that I had muscle fatigue and my athletic performance was stagnating. This forced me to become very well versed in the role of protein in muscle growth and overall health. I also had to  become better informed on supplementation, and how it can impact and improve fitness and health related challenges.

When I started my Certified Personal Training program, I decided to also become a Certified Nutrition Coach as well so that I could help my clients in a more well rounded way. We all know of the benefits from physical activity, but so often we ignore how diet impacts our overall health and performance. It is important to me that my clients not only reach their physical goals, but also that they nourish their bodies in a healthful and sustainable way.

MY LIFE JOURNEY

I grew up in Central Indiana, and after graduating from high school, I moved to Hawaii, Washington DC, and finally landed in the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas. I have built a life here that I truly enjoy, so I am here to stay!

I am a mother to my daughter Ava, and I also get to be a bonus mom to my partner Nate’s kids, Asa, Tyler, and Anders. Between marching band, sports, and trips with the four kiddos, we are always on the go! 

I have been a dental hygienist for 11 years, and I really love what I do. That being said, I promise I will never bring up flossing when we are talking about personal training :)

I love enriching my life with new experiences, new  foods, traveling to new places, and meeting and getting to know new people. We have this one life, and I want to experience as much as I can in the time that I have.
